Description:
Sentillion is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer with a passion for technology. The SQE Engineer will be become a member of an established SQE team and have the opportunity to work with many different types of cutting edge technology, such as biometrics, desktop virtualization, etc. The SQE is responsible for participating in all aspects of the software development life cycle to ensure a quality product is delivered. The SQE is expected to provide guidance of a comprehensive quality test effort for one or more Linux/Windows and/or web-based products. They are expected to help guide the development of a quality program that ensures the operational integrity of our state-of-the-art Healthcare Information Systems technologies. This individual will develop test plans, test cases through the use of a variety of test tools and automation. They will be expected to help provide product metrics to ensure that all features within a release are valid and function as expected. The SQE must be flexible and handle multiple tasks at once. They should have a strong knowledge of automation along with experience in testing a variety of web based technologies and possess a solid understanding of quality assurance methodologies.

Requirements:

BS in CS, EE or equivalent and a minimum of 7 years of solid software experience with a focus on Software Quality Engineering.
Demonstrable experience with testing concepts for large client/server based systems.
Experience in testing Web-based applications, e.g. HTML, JSP, Servlets, XML, SOAP, ASP. Experience with eXtreme Programming practices and testing frameworks desirable.



In depth knowledge of Windows and or Linux operating systems.
Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic team environment.
Excellent problem solving/analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies.
Flexibility to work on multiple systems and different business areas at the same time.
Some experience with automated testing methodologies, concepts and tools such as IBM RFT, SilkTest, PERF, QTP.
Experience with CCOW, COM, ActiveX, HTTP, CORBA, Java Servlets, IIS, Configuration Management Systems, and source control systems highly desirable.



Solid understanding of programming using Java, C++, VB, .NET or web technologies (HTML, XML, ASP, VB Script, JavaScript).
Functions:
Lead the development and implementation of testing strategies for a complex client server software solution.
Take ownership of assigned tasks and participate in Manual Testing efforts. Create and manage the tracking and resolution of defects.
Isolate failures and work with developers to implement corrections.
Participate in process improvement exercises and Scrum sprints.
Participate in all phases of the project, from review of requirements and design to final system testing and release.
Develop test cases and test products to meet assigned requirements.
Interact with Development team to ensure a comprehensive engineering documents and test strategy.
Ability and willingness to mentor junior SQE engineers to meet established project milestones.
Stay abreast of industry-wide changes in technology, programming techniques and new tools being used in the SQE field.
Provide services to Customer Support for reproducing and diagnosing problems experienced in the field when needed.


Measures:
Ideal candidate has seven plus years of Quality Assurance Engineering experience with the ability to readily apply a broad array of technical skills.
Able to manage working on multiple tasks at the same time and provide results to committed schedules.

Ability to provide detailed data to which released components meet the established requirements for all aspects of the release. Must possess the ability to produce quantitative details to ensure the software meets all test metrics.

Effectiveness of working relationships with other members of the product development team, including but not limited to Product Management, Software Engineering and Release Engineering.

Quantity and impact of contributions to improving the overall effectiveness of the development team and its processes.

Location:
Sentillion is headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts. Software Development Engineers will work on-site at Sentillion headquarters. Some minimal (<5%) travel may be required in working directly with customers on resolving product issues and refining product requirements.
