Electronic Faxing and EDI

I'm an ex-healthcare IT vendor employee now working for a non-industry-specific vendor that sells electronic faxing and Electronic Data Interchange software. We have tens of thousands of clients in numerous industries, including many insurance companies. However, we only have one hospital client (HCA). I'm wondering why more hospitals aren't using electronic faxing or EDI. Seems like an easyway to get around some of the huge integration issues hospitals face. Any ideas?
